This looks like it will be an important documentary regarding the Anti-Homosexuality Bill. In this trailer you see Julius Peter Oyet defending death for gays with his Bible and a Muslim cleric preparing squads to hunt down gays. Oyet was also a main component of the recent The Call Uganda and spoke in favor of the bill just prior to Lou Engle’s speech. Oyet is President of the Ugandan College of Prayer campus. Oyet was also in the gallery with Martin Ssempa and Stephen Langa when the Anti-Homosexuality Bill was authorized from introduction by Parliament.

Why is your government not shunning its pro-American client states in the arabian gulf that have death by hanging as penalty for sodomy? Why does your government still have good relations with Singapore and Malaysia which criminalizes homosexuality? You perceive that African nations are weak and that your governments can blackmail us into legalizing sexual depravity. Well, you are wrong because your attempts to ram homosexuality down our collective throats will be met with stiff resistance and you will lose eventually.
As far as we are concerned homosexuality or sexual [dis]orientation is not a human right as defined in UN Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. African Charter on Human Rights protects rights and freedoms so far it is in “keeping with the customs and traditions of African people” —- this provision automatically excludes sexual depravity from legal protection. South Africa’s policy on sexuality is an aberration borne out of compromises made in order to forge multi-racial and multi-cultural harmony between the indigenous black africans and the citizens of european descent. Do not assume that the south african situation is replicable in other African nations.

The irony of it all is that is the producer of this documentary is from a country (France) that just criminalized the wearing of burqa and niqab by muslim women in public places. Of course, I expect the documentary to focus exclusively on people who advocated the death penalty for gay acts. This is what is required for the docu-propaganda to draw self-righteous uproar from Westerners against the antics of “uncivilized African savages” . For maximum propaganda effect, the documentary will assiduously avoid mentioning other Ugandans (including religious leaders) who opposed capital punishment. No doubt, the documentary will avoid mentioning the emerging consenus in Uganda that death penalty should not be part of a revised sexual offences law. The fact that rape—which applies primarily to “heterosexuals” —is punishable by death penalty since 1997 will not make it into the documentary.

In this French-made documentary, I do not expect Uganda’s determination to bolster its sexual offences law to be explored before the March 2009 timeline when Scott Lively and his band of American Brothers arrived on our shores. The documentary will never mention that in 2007—way before Lively et al dreamt of popping over— Ugandan parents were stunned to hear that the erstwhile UNESCO boss in Kampala was busy distributing pro-gay propaganda literature to school children without the knowledge of the Ministry of Education. The documentary will not mention that in the same 2007, the installed gay advocacy puppet groups distributed some leaflets in public places advising youths “confused with their sexuality to get in touch”. The documentary will never mention that 2007 was the year when Ugandans suddenly realised that some of these western NGOs claiming to be in the country to help poor people are in fact trojan horses on a mission to promote the agenda of the Euro-American Gay Lobby.
