There is a good analysis of this by a Christian historian on the Anxious Bench blog:

One interesting statement in that blog, which I think is well supported, is that the college has now made clear that when it describes itself as “conservative” it is primarily referring to its politics, not to its commitment to Christian orthodoxy.
