					<description><![CDATA[I do want to point out something you and Michael Coulter missed in your discussion of social media (and the Internet in general).  While Michael did correctly point out that misinformation campaigns are not new, they are easier, what was missed is that it is also easier to &lt;em&gt;evaluate the reliability&lt;/em&gt; of the information sources.


For example, if 25 years ago (assuming they existed) the American College of Pediatricians (ACP) sent out a flier to various schools, how easy would it have been for teachers to evaluate the reliability of the information in those filers?  How easy would it be today?


Granted, people would still need to actually attempt that evaluation, but it is possible and easier.


It has always been the case, just more important today, that people need to be taught how to evaluate the reliability of a source.]]></description>
