I don’t get this at ALL! First, as others have noted, calling his serial adultery “indiscretions” is like saying the Titanic was slightly leaning to portside.

Second, to advertise the book by saying “he even needs to hear it himself” is staggering.

Lastly, I thought Fortress Press was a high level academic press. NT Wright’s mammoth Christian Origins and the Question of God and the like. Wright’s less academic books are published by IVP and others. Why would Fortress want Tchividjian, except some people still drinking the Koolaid will want to buy it?

I have recently been talking with a certain christian artist who owns a recording studio. He has many stories to tell about how exceedingly corrupt the “Christian Music Business” is. His quote, “Only now they have tapped into worship music in such a way, some industry people actually now call it ‘the prostitution of worship music.'” I do not believe that the Christian Book Business is better in any way. To adapt another quote from this man, “there is nothing Christian about the Christian Book Business! It is all business!” Time for a wake-up call.
Jesus is about Himself. All of us have access to His throneroom. We all can buy a Bible and read it for ourselves. We do not need greedy, manipulative, lying, self-serving and self-proclaimed leaders as intermediaries in order to access God and His Truth. We do not need books from best-seller lists or celebrities leaders at all. We need to get to know Jesus for ourselves. All the rest of this is men trying to serve both God and Mammon at the same time. To those who bottom lines are the profits, they have to despise the real Jesus to get there. We should not be feeding this evil with our own money, nor wasting our time with this prostitution both of music and books. Jesus is God and is fully capable of communicating with anyone of His choosing. Let Him do so as you study His books instead of those who are serial-adulterers like TT. It is well documented that he was trying to have affairs with at least seven women at once. One of those women is his current wife. And those seven are just the tip of the iceberg. Those are just the ones who have chosen to go public. Only God knows how many more there were while he was a pastor.
