  1. It’s difficult not to give in to hate, sometimes. I’m no Christian, but that bit’s right.
Nicolosi and co have done so much damage… they’ve lied, possibly to themselves, and caused such a trail of death and misery, in children, in parents… Enough.

“The therapy works for them… why can you not present that viewpoint”

Because you’ve lied. Because you don’t do follow-up. You don’t keep records, and see what the long-term consequences are. You don’t even know if your “successes” are dead or alive, that’s been proven.
I wonder what areas I’m equally blind in? Maybe I can do nothing about NARTH apart from expose the facts about them, but at least I can leave myself open to the idea that I may be doing the same, and constantly seek to disprove my own conclusions.

“How can we laypeople fight back? Sure I made a reply comment that Rekers reliance on discredited Paul Cameron discredits the Reker research. Why are there no redialy available “Take Down” papers readily available on the internet?”
Mostly because there is too much of this crap out there. If researchers spent all their time discounting this nonsense, they’d never get any real research done.
As for the paper you cited, “Studies of Homosexual Parenting…” it is NOT a peer-reviewed paper, but was actually published in a LAW JOURNAL (not a scientific one). In this paper, Reker’s basically claims Cameron (who has been discredited) has no problems with his paper, but then goes on to claim other papers that conclude there are no significant problems with gay parenting are “flawed”. Note however, he never actual disproves anything. He just tries to claim the papers aren’t conclusive therefore his view must be the correct one. Yet, he offers no actual proof (in the form of credible research), that his claims are true. I would recommend that is what you point out about the paper and that is why papers like this will never make it through the peer-review process. And note, the papers he claims are flawed (and the other research papers he ignored and there are many) actually made it through the scientific peer-review process, while his paper did not.
However, keep in mind there are people who are going to believe what they want no matter what evidence you give (just take a look at the “Berg v. Obama” thread on here).
“Where is Nicolsi’s credible long term research that his theories work???? Where is his peer reviewed fack checked research? ”
Frankly I’m surprised Nicolosi hasn’t been sued by former patients like Ryan Kendall (specifically children who were forced into therapy by their parents). Although, it may be possible he has, but settled out of court. And I’m sure he has learned to be careful to avoid any legal entanglements.

  3. Yes, thank you. It seems like we might be missing some context because the mom’s behavior is bizarre. Unfortunately Nicolosi and the other guy don’t get to respond to much more than baseless attacks, facilitated by Dr Phil.
The mom’s refusal to listen for even an split-second is quite familiar. Let’s see…where have I seen that attitude before?

  4. I am back again, I wonder why I so frequently end up on Warren Throckmortons website? I am a frequent commentor on ChristianPost.com and I can’t tell you how many times, perhaps now I have literally seen thousands of readers comment and cite the work of George Rekers and Nicolsi as justification for the denial of Civil Rights to gays, lesbains, bi-sexual and transgender United States Citizens. I am here today because of the latest comment which justifies the Discrimination based on this report by George Rekers, STUDIES OF HOMOSEXUAL PARENTING: A CRITICAL REVIEW. I only got to the second page of the Rekers report and looked up citation [3] and the source of [3] is Paul Cameron. It was this statement by Cameron quoted by Rekers that made me stop, “Because the parents’ worldview and behavioral standards are disturbed, the child would be more apt to be socially and psychologically disturbed than would children raised by nonhomosexual parents.3.”
How can we laypeople fight back? Sure I made a reply comment that Rekers reliance on discredited Paul Cameron discredits the Reker research. Why are there no redialy available “Take Down” papers readily available on the internet? So when someone puts out
“STUDIES OF HOMOSEXUAL PARENTING: A CRITICAL REVIEW
    George Rekers and Mark Kilgus
    I can just whip out
“The Discredited faux research paper of Studies of homosexual parenting:A critical Review, George Rekers and Mark Kilgus”
that point by point negates the Nicolsi/Rekers type research, written by a professional psychologist or psychiatrist.
I waste so much time reading these reports and then disputing them. This would go very very far in changing people’s opinions. Honestly there are literally millions of people who believe this NARTH/Nicolsi.Rekers et al.
On this topic look at Nicolsi on Dr. Phil, whoaaaa can we say megalomaniac? The mother is right, she was right to put up her hand and say, “No I don’t want to hear anything you have to say, I know what I know and I am doing the right thing for my child.”
Where is Nicolsi’s credible long term research that his theories work???? Where is his peer reviewed fack checked research? In the meantime he not only harms the direct patients who come to him, he is harming millions upon millions of others who merely read about it and think, “Oh gee he is a doctor he must be right” and then they cite him all over the internet as justification for their discrimination against gays, lesbians, bi-sexual and transgender people. It is the “Everyone can change if they just tried hard enough” position that is so very harmful.
    Right now
