					<description><![CDATA[Another aspect that kept the Ugandan law in the (US) view was the fact that the US was going through a nation-wide debate about same-sex marriage.  Many of the pro same-sex marriage people would point to the Ugandan law and argue that was the end result of &quot;legislating your religious views about gays.&quot;  further, it wasn&#039;t some &quot;theoretical argument&quot; but an actual law that they were trying to pass. 



It also got used in arguments about &quot;sharia laws&quot; being used in other countries (and ridiculous claims muslims were trying to get it implemented in the US).]]></description>

I think we all still need to be ready to burst into action again, although I do get a sense that people like Scott Lively, for all their continued foaming at the mouth, are probably not going to stick out their necks so far in future.
