Nursing homes are a COVID virus’s paradise for superspread. Large numbers of high-risk “patients” in indoor close quarters, with underequipped, underpaid, overworked staff with little or no sick time benefits… Like 19th Century tenements, they’re tinderboxes for any contagion.

There is also a longstanding tradition in American Evangelicalism of tacking on some present-day fad as a “67th Book of the Bible”, i.e. Inspired Inerrant SCRIPTURE(TM). That despite the warning at the end of the Book of Revelation.

Previous 67th Books of the Bible have included Hal Lindsay’s Late Great Planet Earth, Watchman Nee, and Left Behind (actually the 57th to 88th Books). Why not Ayn Rand? After the 2008 elections, Atlas Shrugged was selling like the Twilight trilogy and John Galt Celebrity Impersonators were coming out of the woodwork; why not “… Except CHRISTIAN(TM)!” versions?
