It has bothered me for a long time that the AACC is a for-profit business and that there is no way to get involved in leadership like there is with a non-profit association. I've been an active member and leader in AAPC (the American Association of Pastoral Counselors) and ACPE (the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education), but it bothers me that there is no other legit association (if the AACC can be considered legit) that represents Christian Counselors and Therapists.

It's fun to imagine the ABA doing something similar, like allowing lawyers who lack an ABA-accredited education to practice outside their home state or become federal judges.

Christian Counseling altogether is a scam of course, though that is explicitly not the topic of this blog post. You've convinced me that AACC is a scam guild. My brother-in-law is pursuing a career in this sadly - I love the guy to death but oi vey. I think I'll introduce him to your blog at the next get together - I hate changing people's minds but love them thinking for themselves.

Do other insurers tend to cover "Christian Counseling"?

Another scam with "Christian" in the title to pretend the people involved, actually are Christians. I assume they are also "pro life," except for children conceived by unmarried women, since health care for them is not provided.
