No. Just no. Skeptical as I am about the claims of most forms of Christianity, I am even more skeptical that Sun Myung Moon was the Messiah. What are Christians of any stripe doing assisting, members of the Unification Churchl to rally around his widow, who proclaims herself the only daughter of God?

There have been connections between the Moonies and the “Christian Right” at least since the Reagan era, when their strong anti-communism made them convenient allies. They also founded the conservative Washington Times newspaper in that era. Their efforts to seem like a mainstream conservative American religion have been going on for a long time.
One additional longstanding connection with the “culture wars” is the Moonie influence on the anti-evolution Discovery Institute.

Christians should not be doing this, but “Christians” have been in bed with the Moonies ever since they discovered how much money the Moonies had and still have. That motto, almost sacrilegious, when found on filthy lucre, should really be changed to In Gold We Trust. It’s why I put an “L” between the “O” and the “D” on every bill that passes through my hands.
