Your comments about Russia being a religious right wing state is absurd and it is obvious that you know absolutely nothing about this country, its people, and its government. In Russia, 80% of people are Eastern Orthodox but most of them go to church for the sake of tradition and hardly read the Bible. That goes contrary to Protestant evangelicals, doesn't it? People who are banished to the political wilderness are those who criticize the dictatorial government of Vladimir Putin in general. It is also illegal in Russia to evangelize, thus any Protestant preaching in Russia, especially if you are criticizing the EO Church, can get you in trouble. I know one American pastor who travelled to Russia, trying to build a Baptist church there, and he got beat up by local mafia there, that was hired by Orthodox priests. This shows that Russian government which has connection with the EO church there, is an enemy to American evangelicals.

I think it is also a hysteria promoted by the Radical Left that evangelical Christians in American want to seize control of the government and banish those who are not evangelical Christians. I think the Radical Left keeps saying these things in order to continue marginalizing Bible-believing Christians and wanting Christianity to be totally out of the mainstream culture, like demanding "Happy Holidays" over "Merry Christmas" and punishing students for sharing passages in the Bible in public schools.

As for Burleigh, it could be a possibility that he is spying for the Russian government, I guess time will tell. If he is involved in this, then he is doing it probably just for money and personal gain, without believing into anything, similar to what Aldrich Ames and Robert Hansenn did.

Doug Burleigh:
Yet another "Trump is LOOOOORD, He Can Do No Wrong" court evangelical.

And I remember the first stirrings of Christianese Russophilia in the Nineties after the Second Russian Revolution, Chrsitianese radio speeches about how "American Christians may have to move to Russia to escape Persecution."
