It’s Jones’ attorneys defense, so I suppose it’s his own defense, also. Admittedly, his lawyers don’t have much to work with. The judge has a month to decide whether the cases should continue. I’ll keep an eye out for the decision.

Jones’ attorney claims that no reasonable person would believe him.

So Alex Jones’ defense is that what he says is so absurd that no reasonable person should believe him? Isn’t he flatly admitting that what he spouts is garbage and not to be believed? But he knows better, because equally absurd statements from him have been believed and acted upon in the past.

It seems to me that the real legal question would be, should Jones have expected such an audience of followers to believe and act on his fabrications – no matter how absurd – when there is a clear history of them having done so in the past. It is, in fact, Jones’ business model that they do (including, as you mentioned, the President of the US no less).

Not much difference, if any, between GP and Info Wars of Alex Jones fame. Interestingly, he too is being sued. One of the suits being heard this week is by the parents of Noah Pozner, a 6 year old killed at the Sandy Hook school. Jones claims the entire event was conducted by crisis actors on Obama’s behalf because gun control. The family has had to move 7 times and each time Jones’ fans find and harass them with death threats, etc. Jones’ attorney claims that no reasonable person would believe him. The trouble is, the President of the US believes him and apparently so does the 35% that makes up his base.

I was honestly surprised to see that someone that reads this blog would also read the Gateway Pundit. That’s a huge disconnect.

Horrifying. I hadn’t even heard of GP before now, though of course I remember the events concerning the false identification of the driver. Neither had I heard of My Northwest, though I am somewhat familiar with The Daily Caller.

If BB is reading The Gateway Pundit, he’s a sadly confused individual. Not only is GP the epitome of Fake News, a lawsuit recently filed in the Federal courts has accused Jim Hoft (among others) of intentionally publishing fake news and inflicting harm and distress on innocent people. Not just ‘fun and games’ distress, but the kind where the Michigan State Police had to urge the plaintiffs in this case to leave their home for their own safety.

There is no intense study for the truth going on at The Gateway Pundit and liberals certainly aren’t the problem.
