Since Ravi Zacharias has suddenly deceased, then it leaves his ministry in a quandary about what to do with the untruthful behavior of their founder, who for decades went about calling himself “Dr.” from church pulpits and elsewhere. I used to be captivated by Ravi’s presentations and was terribly disturbed when his academic background was exposed as fraudulent, which was later confirmed by his ministry while he was living.

To pick up on a couple of thoughts from this article, I also found it quite deceptive that Mark DeMoss, representing RZIM, shifted the blame to the publishers. I once worked for a Christian book publisher and they do not print bios on book covers that are not submitted by and approved by the author. It is plainly dishonest of DeMoss to shift blame to the publishers. Apparently the dishonesty at RZIM is not with the founder alone, but it trickles down to the RZIM staff. The staff well knows, as I do as a former follower of Ravi’s ministry, that he stood in church after church calling himself Dr. in his lectures and Q & A, often when he is quoting someone else addressing himself. He relished in it and fostered this lie from church pulpits, that is what bothers me. Aside for seeing this myself, I have several MP3s that I have purchased from the ministry where he did this.

My second thought spawned by this article is how Ravi and RZIM feign ignorance about the proper use of Dr. before a name (earned degree), rather than honestly placing honorary behind his name with his honorary letters. They pretend that all of this is new information to them and that they had no idea that it was fostering a lie. I cry foul here. They are playing on the gullibility and ignorance of uneducated Christians.

My last thought here is why did Ravi wait until he was exposed to come clean on this and correct it? Telling the truth
of the matter should have been self-perpetuated and not only because he got caught is the web of his own deceit. And this entire fraudulent mess stemmed from a man who stood on Church platforms and repeatedly said "Truth matters" and "Morality matters" while calling himself doctor. What a shameful moral and logical contradiction this is.
