No, Warren has &lt;em&gt;FULLY&lt;/em&gt; cited the law that allowed Jefferson to free his slaves.  And in other posts on this subject gave examples of other slave owners who did legally free their slaves.]]></description>

<p>No, Warren has <em>FULLY</em> cited the law that allowed Jefferson to free his slaves.  And in other posts on this subject gave examples of other slave owners who did legally free their slaves.</p>

Not only was it indeed illegal for Jefferson (or anyone) to free their slaves, Jefferson indeed spoke throughout his life about the fact that he thought slavery would become the death of the  American experiment and in 1769  as a member of the House of Burgess his very first proposal was to allow slave owners the ability to free their slaves. He was shouted down and called a traitor to his country. So there&#039;s that.]]></description>
