					<description><![CDATA[Actually, the Christian contention is that whole world was founded on the Word of God (ie. the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity).  As for the proper role of Christianity in the life of the United States: it is the same as that in any nation of the world - to nourish and challenge human communities with the love of God as revealed by the Word himself.


Is there is place for Christian influence in a nation&#039;s constitutional arrangements and government?  I certainly think so, and would commend Article 1 of the Basic Law (aka. constitution) of the Federal Republic of Germany as an example of what this means in practice: &quot;Human dignity shall be inviolable.  To protect and respect it shall be the duty of all state authority.&quot;  (&quot;Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar. Sie zu achten und zu schützen ist Verpflichtung aller staatlichen Gewalt.&quot;)]]></description>
