The beginning of being able to make sense of any online "sermon" of Rev. Moon is to understand Jesus better than you do now. We all would like that. Rev. Moon was called by Jesus Christ on Easter when he was 16 in Korea praying on a mountain top. After being liberated from the North Korean death camp at Hung Nam, he made his way south and began again teaching, this time from a small cardboard shack.

Rev. McCarthy's sermon at the link below is of course based on Rev. Moon's teaching of Divine Principle. If you are serious about ever being able to make sense of Rev. Moon's "sermons" then you have to begin at the beginning. Pray to know Jesus and watch this "Sunday Sermon" by Rev. McCarthy.

I joined the Unification in early 1974 after one year of studying physics at RPI in Troy, NY, and have always been well aware that the UC is considered a cult by those who reject the basic message of Divine Principle, which clarifies the Fall of Man, Mission of the Messiah and Second Coming of Christ.

I am currently reading a new book by Kevin McCarthy, "Realizing Jesus: What the Bible Really Tells Us About Jesus." Kevin McCarthy is a long time UC lecturer, who in particular has for many years lectured at seminars for ministers from many denominations and faiths, and has had the very unusual opportunity for vast ecumenical discussion.

I think it's an amazing book in that it goes over the mission of Jesus of 2000 years ago, as recorded in the Bible, with insights gleaned from his "vast ecumenical discussion." I highly recommend it as a possible resource for any mention of the UC as a cult [The first Christians were similarly so distinguished.]
