Who cares if they’re recognised as fringe by the vast majority, if the legislators and powerbrokers don’t? NARTH has become even more the “go to” organisation by religious groups now it as less competition. It’s being quoted by both Catholic and Baptist sources more than ever before.

While RHN shouldn’t be ignored, they will never be as influential (or harmful) as Exodus was in the past. Attitudes about homosexuality have changed significantly over the last decade. Organizations like RHN and NARTH are now going to be recognized as fringe groups by the vast majority of people.

One we asked him on camera during the Lisa Ling show taping. He had a hard time answering. It seems to be moving towards a smaller, celibacy support network of some kind.
David: I think that both organizations will drop the name “Exodus”. It’s too tainted with negative connotations. I don’t Restored Hope Network wants it and I don’t think the new “Exodus” (whatever it might become) does either.
