I can well imagine it being one of the chief tools to be used to stop aid being given to the Ugandan government. As more than one third of Uganda’s economy is foreign aid I would imagine that could be a problem. Meanwhile, we have to start thinking how best to help the victims of this pogrom.

I would have thought the world had moved beyond requiring proof of the Armenian genocide at the hands of Turkey but apparently not.

I realize that turning off the money tap would cause some innocent people to be hurt, but this bill will cause other innocent people to be hurt. So it is a question of six of one, half a dozen of the other.

And as my late father, a man whose memory I respect more and more every day, used to say, “Money talks, bullshit walks.”
