Given that evangelicals consider gambling to be a vice, it seems out of character for them to support a candidate with such a friendly relationship to that industry.

I’m told they’re not supposed to be too keen on adultery and divorce either.

But it’s a case of “do as I say, not as I do”.

Warren, keep on fighting the good fight. Others may or may not be hypocrites, that’s their business. I can’t imagine you compromising your integrity like that. Please keep on as you are, lest people like me over-generalise about Evangelicals.

Just don’t expect to be listened to by too many, and don’t be discouraged if that’s the case.

@Zoe Brain, what a fantastic song! Yes, there are many of us evangelicals who cringe at almost every word from the “religious right” (what ironic names). The insular nature of most evangelicalism prevents contact with the Real World–that contact was what saved me, made me back off enough to refocus my vision and realize what we were doing and how wrong it was.
