Waldron is crazy as are so many other fruitcake dominionists who back an even crazier Michelle Bachmann. How anyone in this country in his or her right mind would even contemplate Michelle Bachmann running for the 2012 prize is beyond me but proves how dumb so many Americans are. As to Susan Slater of NARTH she should be tried in the HAGUE as a criminal for advocating crimes against humanity along with other sex-starved fundies like Scott (Deadly) Lively for their hateful and sadistic attempts in Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda for urging the murders/executions of anyone in those countries accused of homosexuality or even defending it. While our world is falling deeper into crisis, sexless demagogues like Susan Slater are obsessed and consumed with envy over other people’s sex lives. Susan, NARTH, American Family Association get a life!

The idea that God would even involve “himself” in political campaigns run for the purpose of electing a president in a representative republic is quite humorous.

I find it amazing that since the Southern Strategy of the late 1980’s, when Ronald Reagan was elected, Christians have made it their sole idea for “winning the lost for Jesus.” Since when does God use a political outcome to change the course of human history and if God does, why then did the world fight against Adolf Hitler: a duly and legally elected Chancellor of the German Republic?

There seems to be a disconnect when people proclaim themselves as representing the God of the universe, stating that God told them to run. Didn’t God tell Rick Perry to run? What has happened to his candidacy? And, how well does this speak of God’s power if as Rick Perry stated, God told him he would win?

Mores the pity that so many self-deluded people claim God’s mantle of power yet don’t have the results to back up that assertion.

So …. the Holy Spirit is a Republican … LOL .. I guess we would have to assume that Jesus and the Father are Republicans too since they agree on everything.

I am sitting here trying to imagine God’s throne room with Vote for Michelle Bachman bumper stickers everywhere.

At the end of the article the part about George Grant and the quotes from him really creep me out. Doesn’t this smack of that seven mountains theology? It is just really creepy.

In Matthew, Jesus said the following:

“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

And I haven’t the slightest idea what that means.

However, (echoing StraightGrandmother) I do believe that the commandment that forbids taking God’s name in vain is about speaking on behalf of God but without God’s specific direction. In other words, unless you’ve been talking to a burning bush, don’t come with your interpretation of Scripture announcing to me what God wants or what is God’s will as though your opinions carry the authority of the Creator of the Universe.

And I suspect that blasphemy against the Holy Ghost may have similar themes.

In any case, I’m not so sure I’d claim the divine direction of the Holy Ghost unless I was pretty darn sure of it. Because if Bachmann doesn’t win that leaves us with only a few options:

1. God is ineffective

2. The Holy Ghost is a liar

3. Waldren is delusional and thinks that his whims have divine backing

None of these are conclusions that speak well of Waldren’s capacity as an advisor. Either he is a fool or the god he worships is.
