I've just received a second 'indication' that the Bill could be brought back suddenly and surreptitiously BEFORE November. (I received the first a few days ago.)

One can feel the (very understandable, perhaps) anger in 'Maazi NCO's' words above. But why is 'Maazi NCO' so keen to express that anger by bashing his fellow Ugandans? Very odd. (Of course, 'Maazi NCO' thumbs his nose at Europeans and ['liberal'] Americans - but it is his own compatriots he wishes to harm.)
I have little doubt that much of what is wrong in Uganda today, including the high level of homophobia, is partly the result of colonialism.
As for asylum cases: well, given the way things are back in UG, any sensible asylum seeker would have to be pretty certain of 'success' if they were to cite their sexuality as the basis of their claim. As it happens, I am aware of one case where an asylum seeker has made such a claim, but without apparent foundation. Robert's claim does seem to have a sound evidentiary basis - a basis that appears to have been ignored by the UKBA and the immigration 'judge'. (Furthermore, the UKBA's initial decision and the 'judge's' subsequent ruling appear not to be consistent - at least there should be a proper judicial review.)

Oh, and since ‘Maazi NCO’ clearly doesn’t like the fact that there are gay people in UG, he might wish to sign this petition: http://www.change.org/petitions/save-gay-ugandan-robert-segwanyi

That guy Robert is just an economic migrant. Unfortunately, there are Africans who would say anything to be granted permanent residency in Europe and America. In the past, it used to be that people would claim to be from war-torn Sierra Leone or war-torn Liberia because they knew that Europeans and Americans were too dumb to tell the difference between a West African and an East African. In those bygone days, economic migrants had a field day falsely claiming Congolese, Rwandese and South Sudanese identities in a bid to win their asylum claims. Today, every clever economic migrant from Africa claims to be a gay sex practitioner knowing the emotional attachment that Europeans and liberal Americans have towards such deviant sexualities. I will reiterate my opinion that Robert has right to stay in the nation that once occupied his own country illegally and raped it for several decades. I gladly support his right to be granted residency in UK on a permanent basis if he so desires.
