May I exhort all Christians reading this post to consider that God has used pagan kings and rulers to accomplish HIs ends in the past. Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel… The books of Ezra – Nehemiah are great examples of this. I thank God that something like this RESPONSE is happening, if not for any other reason than to remind Christians throughout our land to pray “for kings …and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (I Timothy 2:1-3).

I do remember that God used pagan nations to punish Israel at times and then he punished and judged the pagan nations as well. So…
He really isn’t happy with paganism and idolatry. Ignorance of the law is no excuse unfortunately. That’s why we have missionaries preaching the gospel to people who have not heard that their sins can be forgiven.
Unfortunately also, when you go into any newly discovered lands, there are always going to be unscrupulous people on both sides fighting each other. The people who were already there don’t have some monopoly on virtue. They are sinners just like the sinners who come and take advantage of them. We all deserve judgement.

I didn’t take anyone’s land. I wasn’t here. Neither were they (the ones that are alive to hear any apology). I have as much right to be here as they do.
Have they apologized for all the massacres they participated in? How about the wars they had before we came? Why is anyone interested in the color of anyone’s skin anymore anyway?
History is full of this stuff. We can’t make amends for our ancestors to the people who are alive today, that’s just silly. And the only way you can even conceive of doing it is to identify people by their physical traits as if that means something valuable.
We accept that bad things happen in history, we try to avoid participating when it happens in our time, or try to stop it if we can, and trust that God will sort it out, ask his forgiveness and the forgiveness of people we ACTUALLY wronged, forgive others for having wronged us, and move on.

In the end, this is all about a fear-based theology. There always needs to be a terrible threat on the horizon, whether that be divine curse due to our failure to apologize to the Native Americans or whether it is a divine curse b/c Obama supported some UN resolution backing native rights.
At various times, the threat came from rock n’ roll, rock n’ roll played in reverse, long hair, women’s lib, bar codes, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons, yoga, meditation, sex ed, the DARE anti-drug program, FEMA, the UN, the CFR, Soros, the Bilderbergs, China, Russia, sharia law, electromagentic pulse weapons, chem trails, and I am pretty sure that gays are on that list somewhere too.
