I do not see any cause for alarm. Opponents and proponents of the “sanitized version” of the Bahati Bill will get the opportunity to put their views across during public hearings. I am sure foreign opponents will be welcomed to say their piece during these hearings. All these diverse opinions will be taken into consideration by our MPs before a vote is finally called on the bill

NTV has this report in which we finally see Stephen Tashobya. I don’t know what to make of what seems like a contradiction between his statements on camera and his statements to me.

Of course, you don’t know what to make of his statements because— as I have said repeatedly— you and most of the other commentators on this blog have absolutely no understanding of Ugandan politics. Without further elaboration, Mr.Chairman’s statements to you over the phone and his statement to the local media are NOT contradictory at all. In fact, they are VERY consistent and make sense.
