It can find reasons for its existence in every event, every day. The rationale cited above is a good example.

It seeks to twist meanings, to assert expertise on “ultimate causes” and “ultimate cures.” It marginalizes and demeans its opponents as the “enemies and causes” of the horrors most recently reported in the daily news cycle.

It creates an every replenishing fuel for the Political Mind to refresh itself and redouble its efforts.

The facts on the ground, especially the proximate causes, are rarely attended.

I doubt it would be very hard to find some pro-life group trying to use this incident to push their views as well.

hopefully the senate hearing(s) will focus on fixing the problems and not political pandering.
