Like Jim, I like dark meat, though I prefer the thigh. Dark meat which is higher in fat would be that meat likely to store more hormone…. if it were true hormones were used on poultry. DES (a synthetic estrogen) was used on poultry but when found to promote cancer was phased out in the US by the late 1970s (I did eat a lot of Hoosier fried chicken as a youth). Female hormones are used in animals meant for consumption, however, that only occurs in cattle and sheep. Federal regulations in the US do not allow their use in poultry or hogs. I doubt Europe allows it either. If it should happen in Latin American countries then that would be the Bolivians’ own fault.

On the other hand feminization of freshwater fishes in the Mississippi basin has been associated with the use of birth control pills and the hormones they release.
