The results are so predictable. Folks are going to die. And Engel will be Surprised! and Shocked! and claim that he had nothing to do with it.

Well, Lyn it should come as no suprise that the good Arch Bishop, The Most Rev. Dr. Luke Orombi endorses it. He comes from the "low church" breed of Anglicanism. The local province of Anglicanism is not homogeneous in style of delivery. Even within the synod of Bishops and retired clergy some were not "comfortable" with his pro-bill stance to begin with, some signed the petition against the bill, forcing him to change his stance belatedly. And as for Pastor Gary Skinner, he's not prone to advocacy or the media spotlight, he's got the Langas for that.

I am a bit surprised given predominantly pentacostal nature of 'the call' that Bishop Orombi supporting it. Ugandan Spiritual Leaders Endorsements:

Bishop Simon Peter Emiau - Chairman Evangelical Fellowship of Uganda

His Grace Luke Henry Orombi - Archbishop of Church of Uganda

Pastor Jotham Mutebi - Chairman Full Gospel Churches of Uganda

Pastor Titus Oundo - Chairman Diliverance Churches of Uganda

Apostle John Mulinde - World Trumpet Mission

Apostle Jackson Ssenyonga - Christian Life Ministries

Pastor Gary Skinner - Watoto (formerly Kampala Pentecostal) Church

Apostle Joseph Ssewadda - General Overseer of Born Again Federation

Peter Asiimwe - Uganda Evangelical Mission Agency

Pastor Fred Wantaate - Coordinator for Pentecostal Golden Jubilee - Full Gospel Church

Langa's pastor is there, Gary Skinner. I wonder if they will follow Engle and seek to cast out demons from gays &/or lesbians. Jo Anna Watson of TouchingHearts International is helping with The Call Uganda:

TouchingHearts Int. is partnering with World Trumpet Mission to organize and host TheCall Uganda in Kampala on May 1st, 2010. The Call is a divinely initiated cross-denominational solemn assembly gathering the people to corporate worship, prayer and fasting to return to the Lord with all our hearts.

We believe we can see Uganda changed as the Lord pours out His Spirit and brings refreshing to the broken, destitute and the weary across the land. For more information or to donate, please see TheCall Uganda website by clicking the link www.thecalluganda.com or by contacting us directly.

I'd think that Julius Oyet who is associated with the Transformations/7Mountains/College of Prayer(?) people would be somehow associated with it.
