These are people who are Jewish by tradition more than by ethnicity hence a wide spectrum of physical appearance. I tend to agree with Jayhuck, we have traditionally made Jesus into our Western Caucasian image rather than a that of a marginal Mediterranean Jewish Semitic peasant.

I’m just curious – why is Jesus always portrayed as white in the West – he was a middle eastern man – he should have dark skin – the video is nice but I get so tired of this physical portrayal of him by so many churches in the west

I’m not sure if you have ever been to Israel but there is no particular appearance that distinguishes one from another – many have very fair skin and blond or red hair with light blue or green eyes – others have various shades of dark hair and eyes, while others have a combination of any of these. Jesus could have looked very much like the man depicted in this video.
