Observers outside of Uganda have correctly pointed to the anti-gay conference in Kampala back in March as being fuel on the fire of anti-gay sentiment there.

What the heck were they thinking? Did they bother to think at all?

There was a Sheikh Murtadha Bukenya, a Tabliqi leader who had been named one of Uganda’s most wanted terrorist suspects. Not sure if he is/was a relative of Multah Bukenya. BTW, the vice-president of Uganda is named Bukenya.

I read somewhere that shoe-bomber Richard C. Reid was a member of the London wing of the Tabliqs, an Islamic movement, but he left the group because it wasn’t radical for him.

Many Christians are reacting in a similar fashion to these statements and coalitions in Uganda, sadly, in this case, led by a Christian minister – Martin Ssempa – who is supported by many in the United States.

All these groups claim the title “Christian”. It causes one to wonder what “Christian” truly means. Where is Christ in this?
