If the North Korean’s nuked a major American city it would collapse our entire economy. However in a few years time we’d come back. The North Koreans would only exist in history books.

It would do more than just collapse our economy – it would destroy millions of lives and effect the health of millions more – we MIGHT come back, there’s no guarantee. I’d hope we did, but yikes.

Japan and South Korea are close allies. I believe that if either of them are nuked we would respond as if we were nuked.
One thing is for sure. If North Korea starts lobbing Atomic bombs around Japan is going to change it’s constitution, rearm and start building a nuclear/biological arsenal. This would start an arms race between Japan and China and neither country wants this.
China is going to have to step in and get the North Korean’s back in line.

A pretty esoteric conversation…
What are the numbers if an American city is bombed?
What are the numbers if a S. Korean city is bombed? This is a more likely scenario, challenging the will of the UN, testing the civilization we call China.
What are the numbers if a Japanese city is bombed?

I doubt it would collapse us.

The value of most business assets would plummet after a nuke strike. For example it would be impossible to sell or refinance a skyscraper anywhere in the country. Lots of business activity would instantly stop and tens of millions of jobs would disappear.
Fortunately we would come back. By the end of WW2 Germany was bombed to rubble. 20 years later they were the richest nation in Europe.
North Korea and Iran wouldn’t get off so easy. If they nuked us we would have to assume they have other nuclear or biological weapons and they might use them at any minute. We would be forced to incinerate their entire countries.
Let’s hope they are smarter than they are crazy!
