I encourage any of you with questions about The Mankind Project, and its primary training for men, The New Warrior Training Adventure, to go to the website, www.mankindproject.org and see for yourself. In particular, review the statement on reparative therapy and related issues.

I appreciate the dialogue; and I support healthy, mature, loving, compassionate and authentic men. Can't think of anything more Christian than that.

I know I'm a woman...but...

My husband is a MKP graduate and I've been to a Woman Within weekend. We are also very strong Christians! However, we are pretty good at using our wisdom quadrant to throw-out-the-bones of anything we hear that doesn't mesh with our foundational truths. We are not as confident about the firmness of others' foundations though; and for this reason, we don't recommend the weekends to many.

For those of you who are Christians...and have "eyes to see"...www.crucibleproject.org and www.wrweekend.org

Here you'll find a way that God has used a pastor from Illinois, who also graduated MKP, to transform some of the truths of the MKP/Woman Within retreats into God's perfect will for Christians!

And...if any of you live in Texas...many Christian women and men are trying to expand the weekends to include Texas. Right now Christians have to travel to Illinois to get "gold." We need Texas men and women to fight for hearts!

Any man is accepted at NWTA, and that includes homosexual men and homophobic men.

The NWTA has nothing to do with homosexuality, except maybe that men feel safe enough there to not hide how they feel about homosexuality, either way.

This article is off base and not fact based at all.

My gosh. Men of all stripes come through the New Warrior Training Adventure. White collar, blue collar, young, old, gay, straight and yes I even personally know a Catholic Priest and other overtly religious people of many different faiths. Ones that I know of have been Jewish, Protestant, Catholic, Islamic and Mormon. The training is not about any particular religious/spiritual leaning or sexual orientation. It's simply about men helping other men be more honest, accountable, live with integrity among other positive attributes. What I know for this organization is that it matters not what the man's sexual orientation is, his religious affiliation (or lack of), his political views or his ethnicity. We're all men and that's all that matters. The Christian men found value in the training as have the Muslim ones. This training is all about getting men to live better lives for themselves and the people around them. How can that be anything other than good? Call it what you want, but I'm a better father, husband and teacher because of it.

As a former Narth member, I can bet you will not get an answer to the issue you raised about why New Warriors does not increase straighthood. This idea is pushed in publications and at the conferences but when it is questioned, the questioner is treated like a buffoon.

But New Warriors and other manly programs are stressed and offered as a panacea.
